Key People

If you’re new to Glass Ceiling Arts Collective, please make yourselves at home. The following people know all about what’s going on and can help with any questions:

Teal Vint

Class Tutor

Teale has danced since she was 4 years old and taught since 2018, gaining her diploma in modern jazz in 2016. Teale has competed nationally with her dance school wadpa with solos and groups. She has also choreographed for shows at the Whangarei theatre company. Teale’s main focus is keeping it fun whilst incorporating discipline. Her main priority is helping the kids grow and be confident within themselves. She is so privileged and happy to be a part of Glass Ceiling as her little brother Khea has Williams Syndrome, and she is happy to be a part of something that fills the gap for kids like him.

Sharon Simpson

Sharon Simpson

Class Tutor

Sharon has loved musical theatre all her life and has been part of numerous amateur and professional theatre productions around New Zealand. 2022 saw her directing debut for Footloose and the recently staged Moana Jr at Whangarei Theatre Company.

She plays piano, piano accordion, acts and sings. She is currently a Specialist Teacher at Whangarei Girls High School. Sharon is passionate about music education and performance opportunities for children and feels privileged to be able to share her craft with the youth of Whangarei.

Mariska van Egmond

Mariska van Egmond

Project Coordinator

Mariska has a degree in Arts Management and has worked as a Production Manager for several dance projects, festivals, youth theatre and other productions in the Netherlands.

Currently she is a full-time mum of three kids, of which one has Down Syndrome. Mariska is a big believer in Joy of Movement and follows this philosophy in the classes and events she offers as part of her Movement Practice.

She has been involved with Glass Ceiling Arts Collective since 2020.
